| The
place is Hinchinbrook Waters. Located at Port Hinchinbrook, a planned
and integrated resort on the mainland overlooking the famous heritage-listed National
Park island of Hinchinbrook, in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in North Queensland,
Australia. Port Hinchinbrook offers deep-water access to the Coral Sea and the
calm sheltered waters of the Hinchinbrook passage. The
passage is 52 km in length of protected deep waterways ideal for sailing,
boating, fishing and spectacular sightseeing all year round. "Definitely
the best boating and fishing area I have ever seen, and one of the most beautiful
places in Australia", Peter Webster, Editor, Fisherman & Boatowner Magazine.
The Williams Corporation is developing Port Hinchinbrook and its land allocation is all but sold out. Developer Keith Williams has a highly respected forty-five year track record of success with well-known integrated resorts and theme parks such as Hamilton island and Sea World on the Gold Coast. Port Hinchinbrook is planned to be his finest achievement yet, a vision that has taken years of planning and negotiation to bring to fruition. Arguably it will come to be regarded as one of the most exclusive addresses in Australia, and one of the best small-ship havens on the East Coast of Australia. Recently Mr. Williams rejected a $50million bid in an affirmation of the future value he places on this strategic development.
When completed, the Port’s grand vision encompasses fine private residences and villas, a 200 room luxury hotel, a 250 berth marina with refueling and maintenance services, an 18-hole championship golf course, health club, swimming pools and other associated facilities designed to make this special resort truly world class. The development features underground services, asphalt roads, exotic tropical landscaping, superb street lighting and road signage. A major professional golf tournament and a Big Fish Festival as well as a Yachting Regatta are planned.

Game fishing, day and evening cruises to the Great Barrier Reef, diving and snorkeling, tours to Hinchinbrook island and the environmentally sensitive everglades as well as surrounding islands are all currently available from the Port.
The magical islands of Dunk and Bedara (boasting $1,000 per night exclusive celebrity accommodation) are a short cruise away. Dunk and Bedarra are among a group of 15 tropical islands lying close offshore with one of the world's most remarkable attractions, the Great Barrier Reef, right on your doorstep!
The island's waters are breeding and feeding grounds for Dugongs (sea cows), Turtles, Dolphins and Birds as well as supporting a wide variety of unique ecologically sensitive vegetation.
Due to the ecological significance and sensitivity of Port Hinchinbrook's location, approval for Port Hinchinbrook took over a decade of intense negotiations. The Australian federal and state governments are unlikely to ever approve further development in this area.
